ACA Swiftwater Rescue Level 4 Course with Gradient River Essentials!

The Swiftwater Rescue course teaches recognition and avoidance of common river hazards, execution of self-rescue techniques, and rescue techniques for paddlers in distress. Emphasis is placed both on personal safety and on simple, commonly used skills. Fundamental and more advanced techniques for dealing with hazards that carry greater risks for both victim and rescuer, such as strainers, rescue vest applications, entrapments, and pins, are also practiced. Scenarios will provide an opportunity for participants to practice their skills both individually and within a team/group context.

Cascades Adventures will provide transportation, camping equipment, and immersion/safety equipment (e.g., helmet, PFD, wetsuit, booties, & splash jacket); Students will be responsible for a 45-dollar fee that will cover your certification as well as your ACA insurance. If you have an ACA account, this will be a 35-dollar fee. You will also be responsible for your breakfasts, lunches, and clothing. Cascades Adventures will provide the two breakfasts & dinners.
