Get off on the right foot academically!
Join OSU-Cascades staff members and student leaders in an informative session to help get you on the right track for starting classes on Wednesday. Successful classroom techniques, approaches to working with your faculty members, and helpful lessons learned will be shared by students that have experienced what it means to be a first-year student at OSU-Cascades.
These sessions will lead into a campus resources tour, lunch, and then a residence hall tour so that students can get details on items available for all students. Students should bring any questions they have about and be ready to meet lots of new students!
Schedule:

Resource Tour from OLs: 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM

Convocation means a “coming together.” It is one of two ceremonies that bookend the academic year. Held each fall, Convocation celebrates OSU-Cascades’ newest students, and Commencement, held each spring, celebrates the newest class of graduates.
Convocation is a tradition where OSU-Cascades leaders, faculty and staff affirm their commitment to your academic journey and welcome you to a community that celebrates exploration, knowledge and discovery, and to making the world a better place.
Special prizes will be given out to participants for this event, ranging from OSU-Cascades swag to gift cards. The more students that come, the more prizes that are awarded!
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Join some of our OSU-Cascades academic and professional faculty for a fun "Welcome to Campus" lunch at Obsidian Hall. You'll get a chance to chat with faculty prior to classes, learn more about their backgrounds and share your own!
Upon arrival, you will get your lunch as normal. Then, you will identify a table in the Beaver Dam with a top (listed on table decor in the room) that most resonates with you.

Final new student orientation small group activity.
This will be the final group orientation check-in until after classes start. We will meet up at Bruckner Courtyard, do some reflection and questions from the week, and then we will get you organized for your "Meet your Major" program. Those students not attending an event will break-out with orientation leaders to go visit other offices of interest, check out more of the Student Success Center, and more!
2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Join OSU-Cascades Academic Faculty for an opportunity to gather with other students in your academic program. Students will have the chance to select your program option in this registration, and then show up starting at the program start time and location below.
