MLK Peace Breakfast
by The Bridge
Details
The Peace Breakfast commemorates the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. while honoring members of the Oregon State community who carry his message and work forward in the present. This event is free and open to the Oregon State University community and members of our surrounding local communities.
This year, we are pleased to announce our theme, aligning with The King Center "Mission Possible II: Building Community, Uniting a Nation the Nonviolent Way." As stated on The King Center website, this theme serves as a blueprint for action. It guides our programming, fuels our outreach, and anchors our commitment to building the Beloved Community; a world where injustice ends, violence is replaced by compassion, and love becomes the prevailing force. Dr. Sherm Bloomer, Chancellor and Dean of OSU-Cascades, will be our Welcome Speaker and Lakayana Yotoma Drury, Executive Director of Word is Bond and Vice Chair of Oregon Commission on Black Affairs, will be out 2026 keynote speaker.
This event is free and open to all. A free breakfast buffet will be available.
